In case anyone's still worried about The Laptop That Took The Pint, the
keyboard is responding nicely even without the bath I threatened it with
(one of the keyboard screws stripped - bloody soft Dell screw heads).

Just as well really, as Dell got back to me today with an out-of-warranty
service call quote (they wouldn't do it under warranty) to RTB the laptop,
replace the keyboard, and return it to me - £250 ex VAT all in ...
*shocking*! Oh, and they wouldn't sell me the keyboard as a spare part,
presumably non-user-servicable from their point of view, despite the four
screws marked "K" on the underside ...

Something to bear in mind at the next ScotLUG meeting, Keep Those Laptops Safe!
