[Scottish] Can you recommend an ISP

Hmm... as soon as I saw 'can you recommend an ISP' I thought I'd throw
Demon into the mix. Shame, they've always been quite good for me.

This should go without saying, but check who owns and ISP. There are
many services that used to be great, but have been sold off and are
now shitey front-ends for giant, rubbish ISPs.

Two cases in point: Pipex and Nildram, which were good back in their
day and had brilliant reputations 5 years ago, but are now just front-
ends for Tiscali's terrible service.

Avoid any Tiscali-related ISP like the plague.

I think a few people in scotLUG use WebTapestry.

Also, check here for user opinions: http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk
