[Sderby] TFT display on dell inspiron laptop

Hi all,

Maybe one of you can help with this. I am helping a collegue at work 
install SuSe 8.0 onto a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop. Unfortunately we are 
having problems getting the display to work.

The graphic chip is ATI rage 128 mobility MF which appears to be 
detected ok, however the TFT display remains blank after installation 
and reboot. We have tried a number of different display types within the 
installation but with no success. (TFT, vesa, LCD, dell 1400FP)

We have looked at a couple of log files in /var and these appear to 
indicate that the problem is down to a sync problem on the display.

Any ideas, pointer suggestions etc. If you need more info about the 
config let me know.
