Hey All,

Hmmm web design for a linux group? Fair enough but ask mike, I hear
hes a dab hand with Vi for webdesign (alternatively be lazy and use
dreamweaver *waits for mike to kick him out of lug for suggesting a
windows prog*) hehehe ohh and also we should rally to make alan do his
gentoo presentation, if nothing but for comedy value.

After mikes dns problems some stuff on bind would be handy me thinks
(please dont let mike do that one hehe)

Also think iptables would be of use before looking at m0n0 (unless m0n0
counts as batter for the other team) / smooth

And how to make a hardcore linux gaming machine, of course mandrake used
to make a gaming dist til it was pulled, now it looks like cladera /
trans gaming in the only way, sooo anything that should be done for
optimum 3d acceleration for todays dx9 games? Im sure that could then
count towards a linux lan party (and not like the other ones where they
play multiplayer CIV hehehehe)

Oh and ian is a short dumpy person :P

Small suggestion but once a month meetings ur not gonna learn to code in
heheh, suggest anyone who wants to do so do so as a group I.E. all
purchase same book (any one recommend any? I would say wrox press ones
but sadly they are aimed at win32 env) / use same ref area and then work
on it separately but talk amongst the others for help and assistance????
Comments????

Oh and mike missed off his description of looking like a german washing
machine repair man

Welcome!!!!!
Yes there is a meeting, Mike and I will be at the bab arms from about
6:30, if Mike remembers the tux then said small penguine will be on the
table. If there is no penguine look for and old git with a grey beard
wearing denims, that's me. We are all social misfits, but hard to
describe
without being rude and I was told off once before for suggesting Ian was
dumpy looking when trying to descibe us to a newcommer, so I will
refrain
and just refer to my looks.

See you later then.

There is indeed. People will be there from 18:30. We will aim to
occupy
the long table along the back wall adjacent to the bar. If this is not
possible then we should be near by. Look for a penguin and an old,
beared
git who resembles father Christmas. Also a slightly dumpty guy will
probably be there from 19:30 :-)

Mike.

Having missed the previous discussion of Samba, I would agree that it
would be a good one to repeat. However a general one on Networking in
Linux and its relation to that other O.S would be useful to someone who
has never done a network course in his life. Guess who!
Cheers Dave Coulson

I think it was missing the "knee high to a grasshopper" qualifier.

Hope this helps,

Hans

PS: just to make this message slightly useful, in addition to already
stated (dis)array, there'll also be a chap in a rather fetching set of
