[Sderby] kopete

How on earth do you set up Kopete to use IRC?

All I want to know is...

do I need to get an account from somewhere (like you do with MSN)?
where you type the bits that appear at the bottom of the LUG emails, including 
the irc.lug.org.uk
and the #sderby.

My daughter is the only one that currently uses chat and that is on MSN so it 
doesn't count.

I'm using (or, to be  more accurate, would like to use) Kopete on OpenBSD 3.5 
and on SuSE Linux 8.2 professional and 9.1 ftp. (hopefully they basics should 
be the same.)
