I remember you!  You're the 'gotta be root' guy...

Did you update pg_hba.conf to allow root to use PostgreSQL?

Did you create a 'root' PostgreSQL user?

Did you create a 'root' PostgreSQL database?

If you've done these three things, it should work.  How far did you get?
