On the ADSL front it all comes from BT anyway so most of the time its a bt problem not the isp problem, most support desks have both retards and helpful ppl so at long as the support isnt the other side of the world then it can be the luck of the draw. personally i use Zen and Griffin and never had any problems with either for the past few years. If you want a service you can use with linux then forget the whole usb speedtouch thing and get yourself a router (netgear, zyxel, dlink, linksys are normal home market router makers)  ideally with a number of static ip's if your planning on using something like smooth or mono infront of it (nat to a nat firwall never works very well if you want to host services hehe)

I can second that - aside from a little authentication wobble a few
months ago their service has been stable, fast and is certainly
featureful (and allows useful things like inbound SMTP mail delivery etc.)
