Couldn't agree more, disk space is cheap, even at the high end. Having
done or considered most of the options at some point, I can definitely
say installing to a new disk and managing the migration is the way to
go. Don't mess about with live partitions. If there's a problem with
migrating to a new disk you have your old data intact as always was,
and ready to roll.
