Apparantly they are sloping towards profitability these days (they reckon
they'll break even on a month by month basis in 2003).  

I have to say that (in stark contrast to a couple of years ago) I really
can't recommend Mandrake to anyone.  There latest offering is much improved,
but they still seem to be falling by the wayside in comparison to SuSE and
even Dead Rat.

It's a shame because Mandrake really were pioneers in user-friendly LINUX,
but now the likes of Xandros, Lindows and Lycoris are beating them hands
down in that market place.  As for any other use, well there are too many
distros doing a better job.

One of my main qualms about Mandrake is that, while the obvious packages get
updated with each release, some less "in-your-face" packages are lingering
around in very old forms.

One good thing I will say about Mandrake is this though - they sponsored the
development of Frozen-Bubble - a worthwhile addition to any machine!
