[Sussex] Linux takes on OS X

Hi

One really interesting point raised by the original Byte article Geoff referred to was that it took about THREE times longer to set up OS X to run the Xserver tests as it did to set up Linux running on the same hardware! Bearing in mind that Apple sell their system on ease-of-use I find this quite extraordinary. Anyone with Xserver experience got any clues? (I'm assuming that the figures given are accurate and the technician competent on both systems).
