Assuming you're wanting to run a linux only setup, be very careful which
basestation you go for as a lot of them require windows to do the config
(ones from netgear, Dlink, etc.). One of the best is the Apple Airport as
there is a java based config tool available for it. Not the cheapest product
on the market but definitely one of the most fully featured. The new
versions do 128bit WEP.
For cards, I'd recommend Avaya/Orinoco, Netgear (which just worked with
Deadrat), possibly Buffalo (their newer cards may cause issues, I've not
tried them to be sure). I personally would recommend steering clear of the
Cisco cards, but I know others who have had some success with them.
