[I've cross posted this to the list because it is of general interest]

A very nice desktop distro that may be of interest to newbies or those
planning to install LINUX on business desktops:

Xandros does represent a major investment in the platform: $99 is a lot more
than a free download (but is about the same price as SuSE Pro these days and
cheaper than Red Hat Pro boxed distros).  This price is only about the same
as buying the commercial products included (CrossoverOffice and
CrossoverPlugin) seperately, plus they are integrated and running out of the
box.  

Right now shipping is free (UPS from the USA can be expensive) but be aware
that you may have to pay import duty on this (about £20 I think).

Another great aspect of this is that the distro is Debian based and
represents a gentler introduction to the benefits of debian than Debian 3.0
