I think it'd be Steve screaming with joy - Debian is nice but I'm a Gentoo

What you need is ZipSlack!  I know we have a Slackware freak somewhere on
this list, I know it is possible to build a slackware box by first
installing ZipSlack - check out http://www.slackware.org for details.
