Hmm, I can't help you directly but I do know that more than one US vendor
sells (or sold) this kit prebuilt with LINUX.  Lycoris (formerly Redmond
LINUX) directly sold it's distro bundled on Thinkpad 600E's and claimed full
functionality - it might be worth checking their web-site for details.
