Quick breakdown:
ide=nodma - Disable DMA access for harddrives. This is an option when building
the kernel (to enable it) - Just leave it off.
pci=off - The lappy doesn't have a PCI bus, so no need to enable support for
it (it obviously fecks up when probing). Again, this is an option in the
kernel build around the same area as 'ISA bus' and 'MCA support'
