The first full Gentoo 1.4 ISO are appearing on mirrors as I type.

The full release includes the following new features:

- installation without a network connection
- Optional automatic generation of CFLAGS appropriate for your system.
- Optional automatic compilation of a kernel suitable for your system
- Optional binary installation of binary "Gentoo Reference Platform"
packages for large components.

.. anyone already running Gentoo should just do an `emerge -u world` to
stay up to date - as you can see 1.4 is an install version number.
