[Sussex] Debian as firewall on a laptop

My Toshiba laptop has a large part of the screen missing because of dead 
pixels and I have decided to turn it into a firewall as it is still usable 
and will make a nice small and compact device.
IPcop does not support pcmcia so my next choice is Debian with webmin and 
shorewall for remote admin but what else might I want or not want/need to 
install on it.
