Im not sure that the descision to use an Open Platform based on Linux is
about the technology. I believe its about the licensing and "open"ness
of the technology.  I believe the big ten are after a way to develop
platforms which enable innovation without spending longperiods of time
reviewing licencsing and distribution in an arena thats demonstrated a
fluidity well byond the scope of normal copywrite and infringement laws.
