Hello all,

I am trying to undestand what I am seeing when I run a top command....
I was hoping someone might have a thought they could share on this subject
:)

This is a part of what I get on my RH 7.2 machine

PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
 1510 root 18 0 1060 1060 836 R 24.7 0.1 0:02 top
 1360 root 13 5 100M 100M 10116 S N 8.3 16.0 0:00 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1363 root 13 5 100M 100M 10116 S N 2.3 16.0 0:00 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1364 root 13 5 100M 100M 10116 S N 8.3 16.0 0:00 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1366 root 13 5 100M 100M 10116 S N 8.3 16.0 0:00 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1367 root 13 5 100M 100M 10116 S N 0.0 16.0 0:00 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1369 root 16 5 100M 100M 10108 R N 17.3 16.0 0:01 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1376 root 16 5 100M 100M 10108 R N 17.3 16.0 0:00 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1370 root 15 5 100M 100M 10108 S N 12.3 16.0 0:01 ATNYDRE1queryh
 1368 root 13 5 100M 100M 10116 S N 0.0 16.0 0:01 ATNYDRE1queryh
 ....

There are numerous identical processes shown (actually I have about 12 of
these). I am expecting to have numerous processes, that's not a problem,
but they are showing a Mem usage which, if cumulative would suggest much
more than 100% memory usage.

Is this right (suggesting this includes swap?) or am I reading this wrong?

Dominic
