[Sussex] Remote Management

Does anyone have any suggestions for remote management tools. (pref open
source)

Requires user to iniciate request from their location (behind a firewall
/ DSL connection).

request could be email / IM based. The request would go to another
location where a support engineer could deal with the request. (no vpn
from site to site)
