The new Linux kernel[1] has support for the XBox game pad in the USB
drivers section. I'd look there first. I have the USB stuff running
on my laptop (not the XBox game pad). If you want bring the pad along
Thursday and we can plug it in and see if it works. Don't know what
else I have to do to get it to work, but we can always "od -x" the
device (see Geoff I do use "od" a lot!!!) Let me know by Wednesday
so I know to pack my laptop for the moot.

By latest kernel I mean the development branch. 2.5 development is now
frozen and as of ~19:00 yesterday 2.6.0-test2 hit the streets. Haven't
pull it yet but I do have 2.6.0-test1 up and running. The patch to
test2 will be pulled to night and installed.

If anyone want to see who to patch a kernel and rebuild it (>2.5 as there
are some difference to the make procedure for 2.6) then shout. I'll make
a copy of my test1 tree before installing the patch so I can demo the
steps on Thursday.
