[Sussex] Gentoo, ohhh Pooh!

I lovingly followed the instructions for a stage1 tarball of Gentoo...
I finally got to a reboot, and now its just rebooting continuosly...

Assuming that I use the CD to boot into the CD filesystem then I can
presumably mount /dev/hda1 and get into it...

any suggestions before I go mad ?

I just want to mount .dev.hda1 then reconfigure Lilo
