At this point I have to admit that whilst I am running Gentoo at work and home, my productive work here is done in a chroot to Debian.. ..and this is because we use it as our product platform.  Even so.. I can't run it in the day to day because Debian makes it unnecessarily hard to get the hardware in this machine working.
