[Sussex] Minimal X Distro

Hi All

I am trying to build a bootable cd that contains an easy to configure network setup, 
ssh and X (no window manager).

This will allow me to give the cd out and people to use it to connect up to a server 
and get their full desktop back over the ssh on to the local x server. (i know it works as i have tired it).

My problem is knowing a) where to start building a bootable cd distro and what is the
minimum needed to get X working?
