[Sussex] Xandros boot problem

I have installed Xandros on my machine and now I realise that the 2.4.19 
kernel does not like my symbios scsi cards.
Can I make a 2.4.18 kernel and copy it to my Xandros /boot.
I still have my SuSE install which should make it easier.
Can anybody point me in the right direction.
