A workstation.. going to write some 3D programs on it, see how far I can
push it, it has more than enough CPU time to spare.
It's been busy building itself as a Gentoo box (4 hours from stage1 -
fastest I've experienced and only using 1CPU at that point because the boot
disk doesn't use an SMP kernel). I need to recompile my 2.5.65 kernel when
I get home this evening to just tidy things up a little, and then it'll be
into an `emerge xfree86-drm`.

Yeah, once I've got it up and running under Gentoo I'll whip out the digital
camera and takes some snaps - I really had no appreciation of just how huge
the case would look sitting on my desk - it's around 20" tall, 20" deep and
about 9" wide - Dell describe this as a "mini-tower" ;)
Best of all - it has a nice front access pannel for USB, Firewire,
headphones and mic, when you open it there are four Blinkenlights that are
used to show system status - makes a lovely light show during POST! All it
needs now are some random switches for manually adjusting the registers and
it'd be just a like a proper computer ;)
With the front panel closed it is suprisingly quiet (quieter than my old
machine) despite having 8 fans on the go.
I can also recommend the Dell Ultrsharp LCD monitors... the 18.1" 1800FP I
now have is one of the best displays I've ever seen - when I have some cash
again I might buy a second one and dual head.. ther system is just crying
out for it!

Boxes of chocolates tend to contain a number of chocolates which is prime.
In this manner they become harder to divide equally between dinner guests
and this encourages the sale of additional boxes.
