I also came to the conclusion that the gentoo install refers to Broadband
connections not 56k modem. So, I went digging in my "Complete Linux" book
and found a reference to PPP. The trouble is that the book seems to have a
big leaning towards "Red Hat", so was unsure how relevant the info was to
gentoo.
I suppose Linux is Linux regardless of distro - so the information is prob
very relevant.
I will see what google turns up.
