The reason for this is I've been playing with my mutt settings, and have 
now got a configuration that can set thinks up differnetly depending upon
to whom I'm sending.  I've set this mail list's configuration to add a 
debian hit fortune signature and to GnuPG sign the post - so you know it
is from me.

For some of my friends I encrypt too.  This allows me to send private 
message over a public network.  Only the person on the other end can 
read it.

If you've not looked into GnuPG (debian package gnupg) then I recommend
that you do.
