Well here it is... 

..sorry.. I find it hard to convey sarcasm in e-mail - it was indeed a
fake.

As for Tax.  No it is definitely not a percentage - According to a book
on the influence of the ancient Norsemen and Danes on modern Europe I
have at home the origin of the word "tax" is an old-English corruption
of the Danish "lax" (which I believe means salmon) and is derived from a
method of calculating the Danegeld (the tax levied in England by the
conquering Danes) by counting the tails of the fish a fisherman has
caught.  

Someone also told me that "Syntax" comes from the same route, but I've a
feeling that it comes from latin.
