Google decides where you are based on IP address, yes. istr it checks 
the whois databases to work out where in the world you're supposed to 
be, not where you actually are.. that's why http://www.google.com/, when 
accessed via a BT sattelite link, will redirect to www.google.de - as 
all BT's sattelite stuff terminates in Germany. Bit of a PITA if you 
don't speak German :|
