Erm, I know I'm just checking my mail before some sleep, but even after
2 years + of linux,
a) I haven't got a scooby how to use Emacs (I get by with nano and
kwrite - plus I can just about change a few lines/do a save in VI).
and
b) What does the GNU Tool set do/used for???
My point being, that you'd probably grab more attention with app's of a
type that are more likely to be familiar to a "windows punter"!
That's probably why my status as "LUG nugget" is assured, I still have
lots of windows ideas/concepts/methods floating around my head. I'm
happy with familiar looking app's, and worry about how they work, when
they go wrong! i.e. having a /home partition so if it all goes pear
shaped I can just say sod it, and re-install - nothing lost!!!
Not really the attitude for a true "LUG-ite", I know, but the best I can
do without loosing whats left of the small amount of sanity since
getting into this "linux lark"!
Just a thought !
regards
John D.
