[Sussex] debian

Hello all.

I have sucessfully compiled & installed exim from debian source. i now 
only have one problem, and thats that whenever i use dselect->install 
(after selecting somethign i want installed)  it keeps saying its going 
to upgrade exim.

I guess i need to put an entry into a file somewhere to stop debians 
package system from wanting to upgrade this package, please could 
someone point me in the right direction?
