Just out of curiousity - which mag is this?
I know a while back one of them had a SuSE 9.1 Live CD which I was
unimpressed by....

PS - I can find in my local (Haywards Heath) Smith's LinuxFormat on CD
(Mandrake 10.1 Community) but no DVD editions - has anyone else seen it
around?

Subject: [Sussex] SUSE Crash

Hi all,

Before I start I don't need an answer to any of this just voicing my
opinion.

As some of you may know a certain magazine has a copy of Suse 9.1 pro on
the cover, and as I just got available some space on my home system I
though I would try it out.

Ok start up first thing it nicely tells me is that my computer is 64bit
and this isn't the best version for the job, I kind of knew that but I
know it should work anyhow.

It detected all the hardware I went in and selected a few bit of
different software Gnome being on of them and proceeded to install,
walked off and left it too it came back 20 mins later and the install
had frozen, not content with the outcome I tried again and again it
froze.

And I thought Suse was ment to be easy to install.

Oh well back to Gentoo where I control the whole install process.
