Further to our conversation about IDE's I did a little digging and found
another project that might be of interest to you.

... apparently it's intent is to be an environment like Borland's
*Builder series for C++ built on top of Gtk.

I can't vouch for it at any level, having never used it, but it's been
around for 6 years now and I've read some glowing reviews.
