Woohoo... a good day! A serious 3d graphics card manufacturer has
decided to hand it's device driver code over to the various relevant
projects; X.Org, XFree86.Org, and Kernel.Org.

This is a big win as XGI make some very cool graphics cards and rightly
realise that they can make inroads into the Linux community with very
little effort just by opening up their drivers.

You don't seem to be able to get this kit in many places yet, although
this card is pretty cheap:

.. which might be a good entry point for anyone interested in hacking
some driver code!
Best of all, if XGI are successful they may just force ATI and NVidia to
follow suite.
