[Sussex] New distro install (Mandriva 2006) problems - where too start?

Thanks for all the input everyone.

I "think" I've got this mandriva install pretty much as I had it 
configured last time I had mandy installed now.

Still a few minor niggles, until I get my head round it a bit more.

but as ever, all advice/suggestions/assistance/etc etc is very much 
appreciated.
