Ha Ha, yes top things pipes, get the water all the way from the road to

Erm though seriously Geoff, I've read stuff on pipes, though I'm a bit,
erm, vague? as to their actual use (like most CLI things!).

I do follow exactly what you mean that no guide of that type could ever
be complete, due to the distro specific nature of some things (you're
emerge example being and excellent one, or maybe apt-get, though I
suppose that's more application specific these day's!).

Your suggestion though, well I suppose if, and it's a big if, I started
something like this, it could also include distro specific
chapters/sections or similar.

I think that a basic one to start with, then I could maybe establish
what kind of resources it needs!
