Great idea.

Why only you bring your box. What about others bring theirs too. :-)
Nik spoke about the idea of a "Common Linux Hacks" talk and I think this
fits in. The SLUG now has a portable Debian mirror which I can bring
along in case anyone whats to USE DEBIAN or just do a "apt-get dist-upgrade".
Believe me from a local mirror it is not a long process. So if you want
to try Debian and have a Debian expert walk you thought the install
process then here is the idea opportunity. The system is also configured
as a DHCP & DNS server.
Power uses of other distros could also bring installation media and help
anyone who wants their system installed with that distro. Please announce
if you can bring a distro so that other know before hand what will be
available.
The format of that moot would be something like this:
19:30 Meetings start
Also kick of any debian installs that are wanted
20:00 Linux Hacks talk
Nik, would you give this please?
20:30 Anyone who brought a machine gets to ask questions on
"How to I..." and the the rest of us have a bun fight
on the best answer - there is allays more than one way
of doing things in *nix land, but only one way, my way,
is correct :-)
I suggest that we make this the March Moot. February moot is already
booked, and an install/hack moot would be better served with Internet
access which is more likely in March than February (but I am hoping it
will be in place by February).
