Alas, I can't try any nw on my laptop yet, as the NIC is non functional.
I've
arranged with the salesman to send the laptop back soon to get this fixed.
When it comes back, hopefully I'll be able to add demonstrating networking
to my box of Knoppix tricks :)

No, I'm just trying to shortcut my way to answering any questions that
might come up at the next fair.

You know, different ways, such as fixed IP, DHCP, with NIC or wireless.
