Exim is indeed a very nice MTA and v4 adds some excellent stuff (mmm,
acls), I would also recommend it. Having said that, it is a bit of a beast
to configure, especially the acls. Once it's set up right though, it takes
some force of nature to mess it up ;)

Sadly exim performance craps out when the queue hits the mid-to-high tens
of thousands; The guys at Demon/Thus had to switch to zMailer for their
very high load machines.
They do have Philip Hazel on the case though, afaik, so it should be
sorted. Plus it's not the kind of figure that most people could ever
possibly reach ;)

I can report that they are also very happy talking to Dovecot (pop/imap
server), which I like a lot. Also check out Hastymail, which is like
SquirrelMail, but (imho) nicer (although not as fully featured yet). So
much nicer that I've just switched to it from Squirrel :)

Just had a quick look through the slides, looks like it was a good
