Hi Chaps
Ive been out of the loop for a good while, but I have found some time to try and install a new copy of Gentoo via VMWare on the only machine I can get hold of which is a Win XP based laptop.

The VMWare client I have is version 4 and runs a copy of debian and Damn Small Linux perfectly, but when I try and run up Gentoo (I Downloaded two versions from the web and tried one from the current Linux Format mag) the boot process seems to just stop with the message 'booting...'

If I run any of the CD's at boot time on the laptop as a whole (something Im sure you would all approve of:D ) it gets past this point and starts the install properly. It is just from within VMWare that it doesn't. I have included a screenshot to show how far it gets... I hope you guys can shed some light on a (hopefuly) simple problem.

Cheers,
Dominic
