if you are using the backports for ubuntu then make note that backports.ubuntuforums.org is replaced by a series of mirrors http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=37525 please update your repositories accordingly .. i just spent a few minutes wondering why it was not working until i found the relevant thread.. so maybe this will help out others !
