There are also some great database explorers available, I used a Java one
at work via JDBC to talk to an SQL Server.

It's not really the same as having the management console available,
simply because most of the admin stuff can't be dont via SQL, afaik.

As a last resort you could use VMWare or rdesktop to a Terminal Services
session on the server in question or another WIndows machine somewhere.
