I found something that pointed me towards doing that just before getting
your e-mail Steve, except the pointer only said about putting the
unmasking info for the actual nvidia kernel (6629-r4) in there and then
doing "emerge --oneshot nvidia-kernel", but I'll try the rest after my
"din-din" :-P
I still can't find out why the natsemi module is failing, though it
seems that there are some emerge/complie snags with the 2.6.11-r4
kernel, but no-one seems to be telling as to why!
Still I don't suppose it represents a problem because I still seem to be
able to get net/e-mail access! So I'll worry about that later!
