Actually, it's *two* policies: We're not allowed to install software to the
machines; and they've locked down IE completely so we can't change 
*any* of the
settings.

So can't install a popup blocker, can't change the default start URL, 
can't stop
it hiding my bookmarks from me if it thinks I don't use them enough, 
can't have
it remember login names & passwords... I don't like IE much at the best of
times, but using it at work is Hell

But USB drives *are* allowed - probably because our execs are too fond of them
for IT to ban them :o) So courtesy of the Portable Firefox project, I 
can use a
decent browser without breaking any of the rules.

It really made my day when I discovered that :o)
