This month's moot - due Thursday 29th September - is an OpenOffice.org
workshop.
It seems as if it will be the first workshop for some time :-)
As you can guess, workshops mean participation ;-)
So please, some of you bring your laptops if you have them, and people
can group around them.
I will be providing sample files, so bring pen drives.
I'll bring a 6-way extension lead (surge protected) and I expect Steve
will bring his 4-way extension lead too.
We may need another 4-way lead.

I'm hoping Steve will be able to borrow the projector again?

I have based my offerings around OpenOffice.org 1.1.4, as this is what's
on the live Knoppix 3.8 CD that we sell at the computer fairs. This also
means that if you don't have Linux installed, no need to worry, as you
can borrow a Knoppix CD on the evening.

Just to remind you of what the OpenOffice.org suite is comprised of:

Writer Word processor
Calc Spreadsheet
Impress Presentation/slides
Draw Vector graghics

There is currently a choice of five workshops, which I will put to the
vote on the evening.
One is a basic coverage of all four members of the suite and the other
four concentrate on only one each.
With a bit of forewarning, I could convert these into a coverage of just
two favourites.

The whole workshop will last about 1.5 hours, after which you can escape
to the bar ;-)
