There are a whole bunch of VMs that work with Classpath now. Most of
them quite good.

In addition I believe those fools in the Apache project are trying to
reimplement Java as well without borrowing anything from Classpath
(disclaimer: I used to be a Classpath hacker so I feel that decision
keenly).
