They won't :-) They part of the gnome virtual file system which most
Gnome apps make use of. Basically gnome implements a user-level
abstraction for this... If you double-click on the "Computer" icon on
your desktop, they will appear at the same level as the local file
system - i.e. they're not *in* the file system.

Are you sure you need to ? If you just want to synchronize files, unison
should fit the bill - there are binaries available for windows too:
    http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/
(probably available on other URLs too)

If you *do* need to access it, you will need to mount it to make it part
of the file system (root privs required).
