I've only looked at the demo's and the tutorial, but Open Laszlo looks 
interesting for creating flash applications (as well as other run times).

There's also open source flash information at: http://osflash.org/.

These are in my list of things to look at if/when I find the time.  I'd 
be interested to hear of other resources if you find anything useful.
