Bearded techie or otherwise Nico, I still don't think that the programme 
producers should have used the phrase in a way that could be seen as 
derisory.

You happen to wear a beard? Great. Go with whatever you're happy with. The 
last pic I saw of RMS, had him bearded. Does he still wear a beard ? It 
doesn't really matter does it.

IMO, making fun of a group of people in such a way, is tantamount to racism. 
Ok, maybe not, but it's still being bloody rude (disrespectful ??) to a group 
of people (beards of not) who do a wealth of good in the F/OSS world. Hence 
who the hell does the programmes producer think he/she is, making such smart 
arsed remarks ?

I'd suggest that it's easier to be "clever" at anothers expense, but harder to 
retract any unintentioned offence that may have been caused.
